Clare Tibbs BVM&S MRCVS
Director
Clare qualified from Edinburgh University, and has worked locally since then. She has worked primarily in the livestock sector developing particular interests in fertility and mastitis of cattle. Clare is married to Mark, and enjoys helping and providing input to their family dairy farm in Stanton Drew. Clare also enjoys working with farm parks.

Ed Simmons BVetMed MRCVS
Director
Ed qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London. He worked in a large farm practice in South Cheshire practicing mainly with Dairy cattle before teaming-up with Clare in 2004. His main interests lie in preventative medicine, particularly cattle lameness. Ed grew up on his parents’ mixed livestock farm in Kingston Seymour where he has always maintained an input and interest. Ed also enjoys work in the poultry sector.

Edna Bennett BVSc MRCVS
Director
Edna joined our large animal team in the autumn of 2007, from a farm animal centred practice in west Wales, which she joined after graduation from the University of Liverpool in 2006. Her interest in farm animals and her desire to become a vet stem from growing up on a sheep farm in Norway. In Britain Edna leads a similar, outdoor life helping out on her husband’s riding school in south Somerset. Edna has two children Tobias and Sofia who now occupy most of her spare time!

Lucy Jones BVSc MRCVS
Director
Lucy joined the farm vet team in the summer of 2012 after graduation from Bristol University. She has always lived locally in Stanton Drew. She has interests in all aspects of being a farm vet. She is married to Richard, a local farmer.

Emily Frost BVSc MRCVS
Emily joined us in the summer of 2014. Emily grew up on her family dairy farm in Brent Knoll. She has always had a strong passion for a career as a Farm Vet, and has spent time with us at the practice since her school days! Emily enjoys walking her dog Teasel and ringing the church bells in her spare time.

Jonathan Williams BVSc MRCVS
Jonathan originates from the other side of the Severn Estuary where he practiced in the Cardiff area for many years before trying his hand in Somerset instead.

Naomi Bolton BVSc MRCVS
Naomi graduated from the university of Liverpool in 2021. She joined the practice in September 2022 after working in mixed practice in North Yorkshire. Naomi is passionate about all things livestock related, but has a particular interest in regenerative farming. She spends most of her spare time with her giant dogs or looking after her other furry friends.

Olivia Massey BVSc MRCVS
Liv joined the practice in autumn 2020 after graduating from Liverpool Vet School. Originally from a Pedigree Hereford farm in Lancashire, she has a keen interest in beef and sheep medicine. In her spare time she can be found at agricultural shows around the country showing her family’s cattle or catching up with friends over a drink.

Heather Marie Niman BVSc MRCVS
Heather joined the practice in February 2021. Since graduating from Bristol in 2009, Heather has been focused on all areas of farm and equine work. Her spare time is spent with her dogs and flock of sheep.
Vet Tech
Harvey Horsnett-Bowley
Harvey joined us in the November 2021. He has been involved with farming and agriculture for many years working on local farms and currently heads up his own smallholding in Lower Weare. Harvey is no stranger to being around farming livestock and enjoys all aspects of large animal work; he studied Agriculture at Hartpury College.
When not at work he can be found working at home, socialising with friends, pursuing country sports, and working his two cocker spaniels.
Yannick Underwood
Yannick joined us in 2020 after completing a degree in agriculture at the RAU and spending many years within the agricultural industry. Since then he has headed up the vet tech service including foot trimming, freeze branding, disbudding etc. He runs a flock of Charollais sheep and Pygmy goats alongside his partner in Failand and is currently the world champion in stick fighting.
Jess Young
Jess joined Tibbs and Simmons in January 2023 as a vet tech and is most of her time found with calves. Her time is ,mainly spent weighing, blood testing, vaccinating and disbudding calves. Jess is also trained as a TB tester. Outside of work she spend most of her time with her daughter and when she finds time she likes being around horses.
Reception
Sandra Gilling
Sandra joined Tibbs and Simmons in 2008 and works on reception. Her grandparents ran a small dairy farm in Regil and many holidays were spent with them. She joined in with haymaking, picking fruit in the orchard etc, but was and still is frightened of cows! She loves to read, walk and dance.
Hayley Meech
Hayley joined us in March 2020. She has gathered experience first-hand in farming cattle and sheep alongside her partner at home and through her degree at Harper Adams, where she completed a BSC Hons in Negotiated Studies which included equine and farm animal modules. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse, walking her dogs and enjoying time with her two young children.
Rachael Showering
Rachael joined our reception team in January 2023. She has spent many years working within the equine industry and is now enjoying learning all about farming. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horse and walking her dogs.
Hannah Bishop
Hannah joined us in May 2023. She helps her family run a beef farm on the Mendip hills, but her main interest outside of work is her horses – show jumping to a high level and helping to run the family livery yard.
